If you’re planning a hen weekend anytime soon, it goes without saying that you will need to start thinking about an outfit to suit the occasion. There are definitely a few things to consider when choosing what to wear, so let’s take a look at the yes’s and no’s!
Unless you’re the bride, the key to choosing the perfect hen weekend outfit is not to pick anything too flashy or noticeable because you run the risk of outshining the Mrs To Be!
Even though she may not be one for the spotlight, try not to upstage her because the aim of the weekend is to celebrate her.
Choose an activity-appropriate outfit
When it comes to choosing an outfit, it’s important to know what you are going to be doing on the hen weekend.
For example, if you are going to be jumping around an inflatable obstacle course you will definitely want to wear clothes that are comfortable.
On the other hand, a hen weekend that consists of bottomless brunch, followed by drinks and partying in the club will suit a more stylish outfit with a sophisticated look and feel.

Of course, the ‘bride to be’ can wear white but it’s best that others avoid it! Alternatively, a LBD would look amazing to be in contrast with her.
Put comfort first
There’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable or bloated in an outfit after a day of eating and drinking, which you’ll likely be doing a lot of on a hen weekend.
As long as the bride gives you the thumbs up, consider making practical swaps like trainers instead of heels, a dress with a stretchy style instead of fitted, and a cosy coat instead of relying on your beer blanket.
You’ll thank yourself when you’re standing waiting for the taxi after a 12-inch pizza and 10 shots of tequila!
Keep it classy
Just because it’s a hen weekend, that doesn’t mean to say that you have to wear the tightest, smallest outfit you can find.
Before you step out in your signature mini skirt, consider keeping it classy for the photos. Especially once a few bottles of wine are put away, your dignity can become an oversight!
Go with the flow
If the bride has requested a particular theme or colour scheme, simply go with the flow. Not only does it make life easier for you when choosing an outfit but it’ll also mean that everyone is in sync.
