Newcastle is a thriving city in the North East with a long and fascinating history. The city's oldest standing structure is the 11th-century Newcastle Castle Keep, but the town's roots are much older still. However, this hasn't stopped Newcastle from keeping up with the times, and although it is a deeply historic place, it is also a thriving, bustling modern urban space. In particular, it offers a fantastic nightlife scene and a number of unique and interesting activities, making it the perfect destination for a hen party.
Newcastle's nightlife scene is extremely varied, and one of the biggest advantages it offers to hen parties is the fact that bars, pubs and clubs of every shape and size can be found. This means it is possible to find somewhere perfect for you, no matter what your taste is, or you and your friends can go on a bit of a tour and experience all sorts of different things over the course of a single night or a full weekend. Everything from packed, noisy clubs to glitzy modern cocktail bars and traditional pubs can be found within easy reach of the busy city centre.
Those who like the big-club experience could do a lot worse than visit Digital, a massive super club in the heart of Newcastle. Multiple rooms catering to different music tastes provide Digital with a combined capacity of around 2,200. Those who prefer things a little more close and intimate, on the other hand, would do well to check out The Cut. This club likes to do things a little bit differently, and calls itself 'Newcastle's Alternative Inner City Club Space'. It is a unique and amazing night out in friendly, intimate settings. Those who would like the chance to see big-name performers, meanwhile, could get lucky with a visit to Tup Tup Palace. Obviously, it depends a lot on when your hen party happens to take place, but this is perhaps your best shot at catching a major performer while in Newcastle. This club has played host to the likes of Snoop Dogg and Kanye West in the not too distant past.
Of course, there's a lot more on offer in Newcastle than the nightlife - wonderful though the pubbing and clubbing scene may be. Newcastle is a busy and interesting place, and there are all sorts of other weird and wonderful activities on offer. These include some simple but wonderful pleasures such as a makeover and photoshoot package or delicious dinners at fancy restaurants. Equally, you might choose something a little more out of the ordinary such as paintball, a life drawing class with a nude model or a "hunky butlers and nibbles" experience. Cliché or not, Newcastle is a place that truly has something for everyone.
In short, Newcastle is a fantastic place for a hen weekend. It offers great nightlife, wonderful accommodation options, and plenty of different activities for any sort of bridal party - whether they are pleasant but tame or totally outlandish. All this is contained in a charming, exciting city packed with lovely people. What could be better than that?
