If you are considering a Stag do in York check out some of the most popular activity choices below.
Not just stunning, York has enough pubs and bars to fulfil the heartiest of drinking appetites.
Head to Micklegate a cobbled medieval street that's sure to kick start your York stag weekend.
York stag do hot spots;
Kuda - A popular haunt amongst locals and revellers. Kuda offers a clubbing experience sprawled across 3 floors, each accommodating different musical tastes. Complete wit a tiki themed basement with hula girls and a mambo lounge. Ensure to give the stag the VIP experience with our Celeb VIP option.
The Star Inn - A Fantastic restaurant located on the banks of the Ouse, reserve a table in their terrace for the ideal afternoon of drinks and delicious food.
Evil eye - A colourful world inspired by Brazil, Haiti and Morocco. Evil eye specialises in cocktails and a sanctuary from the norm, the perfect drinking haven complete with a beer garden.
Stuck for ideas, then let us pick out a few of our favourite activities and stag do ideas for York. The fact that York is right on the doorstep of the North Yorkshire National Parks, lends itself to some adventurous outdoor fun, why not take on some Raft Building, Kayaking, or dig into your inner Bear Grylls with some Bushcrafting. Other outdoors activities would be Clay Pigeon Shooting, Air Rifle Shooting, Crossbows or Axe Throwing, we would advise combining a couple of the forementioned activity for larger groups to keep everyone busy.
If you were looking for less strenuous activity ideas, how about some options located in the city centre such as Life Drawing Class, or even the Stag Stitch up life drawing class, strictly for groups who’s stag is a “good sport”. Challenge the groups intellect with some Escape Rooms or really go in on the Stag with the Comedy Court Room Roast! Let’s spill the beans on all his bad habit and embarrassing escapades!
We also suggest including a meal within your stag package, as trying to get 20 blokes into a place to eat in York can prove tricky. We have some great group friendly options such as Byron Burger, Pizza Express or Las Iguanas to name a few.
Heading into the evening we would recommend the Bar Crawl Beauties who will take care of everything. Meet the friendly guides in a convenient location and they will plan every venue, with free entries, free shots and drinking games throughout. Don’t waste time getting knocked back at the door of various bars, take away the stress with this activity.
It can be tricky to source stag friendly accommodation in York but luckily, we offer some great options for all groups. For those prioritising location above all else, you cannot fault the Riverside Apartments, smack bang in the city centre, next door to Kuda nightclub and York Dungeons. Not only are these apartments centrally located but quality has not been compromised, from 4 sleepers to a large 15 sleeper apartment, even their Penthouse with Roof Terrace overlooking this historic location you’ll feel right at home.
Another great option is the York Crescent Apartments, located close to the Train station for those groups travelling by rail, but just outside of Micklegate Bar so a short walk to all bars, pubs etc. This small block contains 4 units sleeping upto 18 guests in total. Most stag groups could hire the full block for themselves.
Any groups that would prefer to spend their money on Booze can consider one of three Travelodge’s in and around York, always clean and tidy you know what to expect. Room layouts can be a mixture of Twin and Triples to accommodate for all group sizes and budgets.
